BEIL0014 Digital Making Project 1 : The Bowl - Week 2

This is week 2 process (The bowl).

Preparation material: Aluminum Square sheet,  Bowl template and radius gauge

Step 1: Draw circles with bowl template in aluminum sheet and then cut off the outside of the largest circle by Hand lever shear.
Tips - Cut as much as accurately then you can get a better bowl at the end.

Step 2: Hammer from outside of a circle to centre of a circle with sandbag or wood mold. Make a shape of a bowl and do hammer until the bowl became similar circle radius approximately.
Tips - Do not using hammer as strongly. It need to do hammer as similar power.

Step 3: Using the English wheel.
This stage is final stage to make smooth surface.
Check the wheel which can use in your bowl (There are several types radius wheels). My bowl is R 155. Roll through the bowl in all direction.
Tips - Do not apply too much pressure. It caused to create line mark on your bowl.

Step 4: Measuring after using the English wheel and polishing the bowl.
*If the bowl does not fit on radius, you need to work again and again.
